Originally an Italian agricultural God, Saturn is known to us as Father Time, the representative of the past and old order. Once thought to be the most distant planet in the Universe, this planet came to represent limitations, boundaries and fear.

Saturn has a dreadful reputation and is much feared by astrologers. Those born under the weight of this planet can be introspective, intense and gloomy. They have a well defined sense of responsibility and can tend towards pessimism and depression.

It's not all bad news though for sombre Saturnine beings. Saturn is also thought to be the most beautiful planet in the Solar System and represents accomplishment and achievement. Saturn tests us and forces us to confront our fears. The reward is great wisdom and depth.
